Handicaps & Course Set Up

Pro-Am Tour events are operated as British events, under R&A rules and Tournament Rules of the PGA of GB & I.

Amateurs must have an acceptable handicap to participate in The Pro-Am Tour. This includes CONGU handicaps, a European Golf Assocation index, or a USGA index. Other handicaps may be acceptable, however we must be notified in advance for the handicaps to be authorised, and the player may be issued with a "playing handicap" for the tournament.

Amateur golfers will play off their CONGU handicap or their allocated playing handicap, with a ¾ allowance.

Handicaps are limited to 24 for men amateurs and 36 for ladies. Players with higher handicaps must play off these maximum limits.

For Challenge Days, amateurs will receive full allowance, i.e. 100% of their CONGU or Playing Handicap, playing individual stableford format.

Under USGA and EGA recommendations, as this is a four-ball stroke play competition where tee-positions may be moved by more than the permitted amount, scores are not considered Qualifying Scores and are not required to be submitted for handicap calculation purposes. As such there is no need to hole out on every hole if you are not on the team scorecard.

SENIOR MEN AMATEURS
While professionals and men amateurs will typically play a par 72 course or approximately 6,500-6,600 yards, men amateurs aged over 60 and with a handicap of 14 or more, may elect to play froma slightly shorter shet of tees (typically around 6,100-6,200 yards) with an appropriate handicap adjustment. This will take the longer carries out of play and enhance your enjoyment of the stunning courses featured within The Pro-Am Tour. The decision to do so must be made prior to arriving for the event. An adjusted playing handicap will be determined and this will prevail for the duration of the event.
